Listing Policy: Condition Guidelines

 Condition Guidelines

Accurate assignment of product condition is essential to the buyer/merchant experience so that less disputes occur and better overall customer satisfaction is achieved.  It is essential that the merchant makes a careful and scrupulous evaluation of each product being listed for sale before designating its condition on the MarketStop MarketPlace.

 Standard Conditions

The succeeding protocol is applicable to all MarketStop MarketPlace categories unless specified otherwise:

–Please note that a Blu-ray or DVD missing a valid digital code or a disc from a Blu-ray/DVD Combo item MUST list as being in ACCEPTABLE condition only, even if the remaining content has never been used!

NEW:

A brand-spankin’ new item.  If there are any manufacturer’s warranty for the product, it still applies.  Warranty information must be included somewhere in the listing.  Original packaging for new items is intact.

USED: LIKE NEW AND/OR OPEN BOX:

This is a product that is in superb working condition.  Original shrinkwrap may be absent, but the original packaging is still unblemished.  If an instruction manual comes with the product when new, it must accompany the item in the sale.

USED: VERY GOOD:

A well-preserved product with restricted or limited use and presents in good working condition.   Some signs of use may be present, like faint scratches or smudges, or superficial imperfections.  The item, in no way, can be damaged beyond the aforementioned description, however, the packaging, itself, may be damaged or repackaged.  Any signs of use must be noted in the listing.  Pictures are preferable.

USED GOOD:

Wear is prominent from steady use, but the product still functions correctly.  Packaging may be impaired or repackaged.  The product may have writing on it, as in showing identification or ownership, or have minor cosmetic defects.  Any signs of use must be noted in the listing.  Pictures are preferable.  Parts or accessories may be absent, but this must be noted and detailed in the listing description.  This includes instruction manuals, screws, bolts, etc.

USED ACCEPTABLE:

NOTE:  Blu-rays or DVDs without Digital Codes do not need to be listed as Acceptable if all else is in Good, Very Good, or Like New condition.  However, it must be noted in the listing that the Digital Code is/was expired and/or missing.  This product is reasonably battered but still functions properly, as expected.  Packaging may be impaired or repackaged.  Indications of use or wear may include, but are not limited to, dents, scratches, excessive smudging, dog-eared corners, water damage, and discoloration.  The product may have writing on it, as in showing identification or ownership.  Pictures are preferable.  Parts or accessories may be absent, but ALL missing material must be noted and detailed at length in the listing description.  This includes instruction manuals, screws, bolts, wires, cables, cords, accompanying DVD or Blu-ray discs, etc.  If a listing does not abide by these stipulations, then the listing can, and will, be removed completely.  NOTE AGAIN: DVDs or Blu-rays whose Digital Codes have expired need not be listed as “Acceptable.”  They may be listed in accordance with all else that is included in the media item.

RENEWED OR REFURBISHED:

This would be a pre-owned item that has been rebuilt, replenished, and/or cosmetically improved and operates and presents just as the item did when it was new.  It also meets the conditions of a LIKE NEW item.  The item will show nominal, if any, signs of wear, and no flaws can be detected at a distance of 24-inches.  It may be shipped in a box other than the original box when the item was NEW.  The merchant will commit to a “90-day from date of purchase” refund or replacement warranty if the item does not perform as anticipated.

What is the reason for this MarketStop policy?

Marketing conditions are inherent to positive eCommerce transactions, and in the MarketStop MarketPlace, we encourage all our merchants to describe their products to the best of their abilities.  Pictures are one of the best ways of presenting your product prior to someone making a purchase, thus, incurring costly returns because customers are not satisfied with the condition noted in the listing as compared to the product.  If a picture is present, returns are usually not allowed.  Please see our return policy.
